RSGB Contest Results 144MHz May Contest 2021

v4.145 by G4CLA

Once again, this year's contest was held under some COVID-19 social distancing rules, which restricted multi-operator entries. The contest committee guidelines did allow for entries for stations where operators are from the same household/bubble, we have also allowed an entry from Scotland which was organised under the specific rules set out for indoor-sports in GM.

2020 was a bumper year for entries in this contest and the number of logs received in 2021 are down on that record but still 20% up on the 2019 levels, with 128 entries. Conditions were generally descried as 'poor',' variable',' well down on last year' and 'flat' and the weather over the weekend didn't help, with the most optimistic report being 'I have seen worse' and one station had to 'beat a retreat at 1300 as lightning approached'. The tropo ODX was between G0VHF/P and DG0VOG in JO60 at 846Km.
